Trucking Careers of America began a little over 13 years ago with the intent to represent the best interests of cdl class a truck drivers. Our mission from the beginning was to help CDL Class A drivers become successful and not just another statistic. Our focus then and now is to provide career advisory and job placement services.
Since then we have had the pleasure of developing excellent relationships with many cdl training schools across the U.S. These are cdl training schools that operate in an honorable and professional manner. Their priority is on educating and training drivers for a successful career.
Truck driver training schools is big business …..
Unfortunately, there are ‘bad cdl training schools’ that in reality are businesses posing as training schools. These schools are known for:
* charging an inflated tuition and/or high interest rate on financing
* accepting tuition from a student who will not meet any hiring qualifications
They are also known for promising:
quick training that is not up to industry standards
a quality education that is not up to industry standards
job placement but cannot deliver
As a result, all too often a graduate experiences the end of his or her driving career before it even began.
Trucking Careers of America and CDL Training Schools
TCA works closely with a number of accredited CDL training schools that are reputable, and highly regarded. Many accept WIA Grants and other types of federal or state grants. Students receive more individual attention because the classes are intentionally small.
Upon graduation, students are often referred to us for job placement. Most cdl training schools have an excellent percentage of graduates. And TCA has an excellent ratio of job placements for these graduates. You can find a listing of quality cdl training schools across the U.S. in our Truck Driving School Guide.
Here is a portion of a letter from several Trainco CDL Schools that is given to their students:
The gentleman cited above – James McCormack – is a longtime professional career counselor for truck drivers. We enjoy our alliance with this older gent, who works very hard to see that our enrollees understand the ins and outs of the industry. He is a straight shooter who does not hesitate to share the truth about the highs and lows of particular trucking companies. Jim’s and Trainco’s desire is to make sure YOU get in with just the right company and that you are pleased to be there for at least that first, and all-important, year of driving. More than likely, we will have you contact James right off the bat. You will find his direction and expertise useful in filling out applications and setting up interviews with companies we think best match your needs and background.”
First of all, there is no contract obligation. Especially relevant is that you have many more options about which company you go to work for.
Also, most hiring companies will pay up to $150 per month towards the cost of your school training through a tuition reimbursement agreement.
We are confident that you will receive excellent training and be well prepared for your career in the trucking industry when we recommend a cdl training school. Please contact us If you are interested in attending a cdl driver training school in your area.
