CDL REFRESHER
COURSE
Guidelines for getting hired ...
HOW
TO GET HIRED IN TODAY'S ECONOMY
WE
CAN HELP !
With the current state of the economy,
we are receiving more and more applications from CDL applicants
that need a CDL Refresher Course before they can be hired. The following
are the typical guidelines to determine whether a CDL Refresher
Course is required. These are general guidelines, but please note
that this may not apply to all trucking companies' hiring policies:
- Off the road for less than six months
of currently active OTR driving, no CDL Refresher Course is required.
- Off the road for six months up to
one year, minimum requirement is a 40-hour CDL Refresher Course.
- Off the road for one year or longer,
minimum requirement is a 40-hour CDL Refresher Course.

(1) Through a company sponsored program,
or
(2) Attend an independent accredited
CDL training school.
NOTE: Currently, company sponsored
CDL Refresher Courses are very limited, and at best, those companies
that may be offering these programs at this time are not actively
hiring. Therefore, attending an independent accredited CDL training
school is your best option.
Because of the recent changes in the
trucking industry, it's important to note that Recent Graduates
from an independent accredited CDL school, whether it be to get
your CDL Class A License or complete a CDL Refresher Course, are
the candidates most likely to be hired at this time. The reason
is that the companies that do offer in-house CDL training and CDL
Refresher Courses are very large companies with deep financial resources-but
they are not hiring.
We Can Help.....
The majority of the trucking companies
do not have that financial leverage, therefore, they are dependent
upon finding drivers from other sources. That's
where we come in....these companies continue to have a need for
drivers but can only hire those drivers that have already acquired
their CDL Class A or completed their CDL Refresher Course through
another source.

"Mr. McCormack, I can't begin
to tell you how appreciative I am for what you've done for me. After
I graduated from CDL school I went to work with a trucking company
and they sent me home because of a 'skills deficiency'. You made
me realize that since they terminated me during training it would
be difficult for me to get hired by another company, and you recommended
that I go to a particular school that specializes in this area through
their refresher course This school is terrific - I had 1-1 instructions
working on my weaknesses and now I'm ready to go to another company
for orientation. This time I know I'll succeed, thanks to you."
