SUMMARY OF PROGRAM
OFFERINGS:
Percentage based pay package offering 70% of the gross revenue
if pulling the company van, 75% of the gross revenue if pulling
your own van, and 78% of the gross revenue if pulling your own
reefer. With focus on high revenue loads, long hauls, and no
touch freight, each of these companies offer independent contractors
one of the best profit making opportunities among truckload
van carriers.
Assistance
with base plate and permits. Most companies understand there
is a large expense involved in purchasing the base plate and
permits, therefore, there will be assistance provided. The owner/operator
will then reimburse the company for the cost of the base plate
and permits through a minimal weekly deduction. The standard
reimbursement is set as a payroll deduction of $75.00 weekly
until paid. Owner/Operators are welcome to run with their own
base plate and permits.
Fuel
card program. Companies offer a fuel card through COMDATA. The
Owner/Operator can fuel anywhere COMDATA is accepted. There
is a network of fuel stops where discounts are provided to Owner/Operators.
Tractor
insurance available. Physical damage and bobtail insurance is
available and deducted from the Owner/Operator's settlement.
Physical damage insurance offered is typically 4% of the tractor's
stated value. Non-trucking liability (bobtail) insurance is
$30 per month. An insurance binder must be provided if the Owner/Operator
does not require assistance with tractor insurance.
Free enrollment in the Gold PIN Club. The Gold PIN Club offers
fuel discounts, national tire discounts, as well as low labor
rates and parts prices in company shops.
Optional
maintenance program. Not required but recommended that the independent
contractor sets up a maintenance fund. The maintenance fund
is established, based upon the independent contractor's terms
(i.e. $.05/mile or $100 a week).
Train
your family/buddy program. This program provides independent
contractors the opportunity to train their co-drivers who have
little or no experience driving over the road, with a Class
A CDL license.
TRACTOR AND LICENSING
REQUIREMENTS:
Level
fifth wheel height of no more than 48 inches. Sliding fifth
wheel preferred, but not necessary.
Measurement
from rear of cab to center of fifth wheel no less than 48 inches.
Scale
weight of empty tractor not to exceed 20,000 lbs.
Must
pass a Federal DOT and Company inspection.
FOR
LICENSING THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED:

copy of the front and back of title showing ownership.
Photo
copy of form 2290 showing payment of Federal Highway use tax.
Photo
copy of previous registration where tractor was leased on last.
Photo
copy of Bill of Sale showing purchase price is all that is necessary
if tractor has been purchased within the last 60 days.
DRIVER &
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
All drivers
must meet the following minimum requirements:
Possess
Class A CDL with hazardous material endorsement.
One
year recent, similar, and verifiable OTR driving experience
with a Class A CDL.
Co-driver
or second seat driver of a team must have 6 months recent,
similar, verifiable OTR driving experience, or must be
a graduate from an approved driving school.
A
background investigation including criminal and motor
vehicle reports.
